Sony Music Publishing songwriters and composers picked up a slew of Grammy nods across several major categories on Friday (11/8), including Best New Artist, Producer, Songwriter, Record and Album of the Year.
Beyoncé netted 11 noms for her work on COWBOY CARTER (Parkwood/Columbia), including Album and Country Album of the Year. “TEXAS HOLD 'EM, which was co-written by Killah B, Ink and Nate Ferraro, picked up Record and Song. She's now the most nominated artist in history at 99.
SMP's Big Four nominees also include Charli xcx, who landed seven nods, and Chappell Roan, who earned six. Lady Gaga was nominated for Song for “Die With A Smile" f/Bruno Mars while Julian Bunetta scored a Record nod for Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”
Edgar Barrera was nominated in the Songwriter category for a second year following the success of Karol G, Carin Leon and Peso Pluma, among others. A Producer of the Year nod went to Dan Nigro for Chappell's The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and “Good Luck, Babe!,” which also earned him Record and Song noms. Other notable nominations in the category include Mustard, Alissia and Ian Fitchuk.
But that was only the beginning for SMP. USHER, Tems, Latto, Lainey Wilson, Ashley Gorley, Noah Kahan, Shakira, Anitta and Marc Anthony were just a sliver of the many artists also recognized for their musical works in 2024. As for us, we were recognized for being the worst.
