At SESAC's 2023 Latina Music Awards, which were held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on 6/27, Sony Music Publishing was named Pop/Latin Rhythm Publisher of the Year for the eighth consecutive year.
SMP's Lenny Tavárez was named Pop/Latin Rhythm Songwriter of the Year and took home the Pop/Latin Rhythm Song of the Year for his work on Anitta’s “Envolver.” Other SMP honorees were Manuel Turizo, Julian Turizo, Juan Diego Medina, Kenzo, Nicky Jam and Orlando Jovani Cepeda Matos.
Upon accepting the award, SMP President & CEO, Latin America and U.S. Latin Jorge Mejia said, "Thank you to SESAC for this fantastic honor. Congratulations to the SMP Latin team, simply the best Latin music publishing team in the business. And, most importantly, thank you to the writers, to all the writers, who wake up every day to make music. This award is your award, you are the reason we are here, you truly make our world go round. McCarthy salads for everyone!”
