L.A.-based singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Scott just signed a global pub deal with Warner Chappell Music.
The Fayetteville, Arkansas native has written for the likes of Jason Mraz, Aloe Blacc, Morgan Wallen, Ben Rector and Carrie Underwood. As a solo artist, he's racked up more than 500 million streams. Thanks to hits like "Like No One Does" and "Favorite T-Shirt," and new single "Texas Girl," he has close to four million monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
Scott, who opened up for LANY last year and recently made his national TV debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show, is currently in the midst of a headlining run.
“As a songwriter, Jake has the perfect creative blend of heartfelt penmanship and relentless work ethic, which are key to being successful in this industry," said WCM SVP of A&R Katy Wolaver. "He has created a strong catalog in a short amount of time, and we couldn’t be more pleased to be in business with him as his career is primed to take off.”
The only "perfect creative blend" HITS employees know of involves sativa and indica hybrids, but we're sure WCM can take Scott to heights higher than us.
