Katie Welle, who has moved between publishing and label jobs within Sony for15 years, has been named Senior Vice President, Creative A&R for Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
Welle is responsible for contributing to Sony/ATV’s overall A&R strategy, discovering, signing and developing songwriters, and nurturing industry relationships throughout the creative community. She is based in the company’s Los Angeles office.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Katie Welle for a very long time,” Sony/ATV Chairman and CEO Jon Platt said. “She has impeccable, diverse taste in music and is tremendously dedicated to her craft.”
Welle was most recently SVP, A&R at RCA Records and was VP, Creative, at Sony/ATV from 2008 to 2014. She began her A&R career in 2005 at Epic Records as a coordinator. She has worked with songwriters such as Becky G, Kesha and Jeff Bhasker.
