UMPG ZOOMS THE DEAL
4/9/20

In quarantine fashion, UMPG is celebrating multiple signings via Zoom. British-Japanese artist Rina Sawayama and songwriter/artist/producer Oscar Lang have inked exclusive global publishing agreements with UMPG U.K. and Jamie N Commons has extended his exclusive global pub deal.

Sawayama has been releasing music independently for the past few years and is gearing up to drop her first album via Dirty Hit on 4/17 and Lang co-wrote beabadoobe’s “Coffee,” which has since been sampled by Powfu in the viral hit “coffee for your head.” UMPG A&R Caroline Ellray originally inked Commons in 2011. He recently co-wrote Lewis Capaldi’s “Hold Me While You Wait” and has dropped his EP Fever Dreams via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope.

Over at UMPG Latin, producer Lil Geniuz has inked a global pub deal. He’s previously produced for artists like Justin Quiles, Miky Woodz, Darell and Rauw Alejandro and has co-penned and produced Darell’s “No Vuelvas Mas,” which has 23.4m+ streams on Spotify as well as the Darell X Alejandro collab “Fumeteo,” currently viewed over 23m+ times on YouTube.

At UMPG Austrailia, SKŸE and Billy Davis have inked global pub deals. SKŸE, née Nicolas Duquemin, has amassed over 1.4m Spotify streams on his independently released track “Better.” The singer/songwriter is currently working on his debut EP with fellow UMPG writer/producer Andy Hopkins, a.k.a. Hauskey.

Producer/songwriter Davis has already shared the stage with artists like Ruel and Anderson .Paak as well as performed at Australian festivals like Let Them Eat Cake, Golden Plains, Lost Paradise and more. He recently supported Tones and I across their U.K./EU tour, which continues in Australia this September. With over 10m+ combined career streams, Davis’ remix of “Headspace” f/Nadine Lustre, Curtismith and Massiah also reached #1 in the Philippines.
