LOITERTON RIDES AN INDO-PACIFIC WAVE

David Loiterton, who was instrumental in securing Primary Wave Music’s recent partnership with India’s Times Music (the label/publisher/subsidiary of the Times of India Group) has joined PW as president, Indo-Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Loiterton will be responsible for driving investment in music IP across the region, particularly in India, Japan, South Korea, China and Australia, as well as emerging Southeast Asian markets. He will manage the company’s catalog in these fast-growing markets.

Loiterton has more than 35 years’ experience in music publishing, recording, artist management and streaming. He started his career in Sydney with INXS, managing the band and serving as GM of its label, rooArt. In 1991 he moved to Hong Kong, taking responsibility for building BMG’s publishing business in Asia.

In 2000, he launched a streaming platform with Japan’s Itochu and Hong Kong’s Techpacific. Three years later he joined Universal Music to oversee strategic marketing, catalog and commercial activities in Asia. In 2006 he joined the U.K. startup Omnifone, where he inaugurated streaming services with Sony, Samsung and Tencent. Loiterton began working with Primary Wave Music in 2018.
