CANCELLATIONS & COVID: THE LATEST

Garth Brooks has canceled his next five stadium shows, Korn is rescheduling six concerts after singer Jonathan Davis tested positive for COVID-19 and The String Cheese Incident has moved some performances to 2022.

Brooks is offering refunds for shows at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati (9/18), Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C. (9/25), M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (10/2) and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. (10/9). A postponed concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville that had not been rescheduled is also off the books.

“In July I sincerely thought the pandemic was falling behind us,” Brooks said. “Now, watching this new wave, I realize we are still in the fight and I must do my part. I have asked the wonderful cities of Cincinnati and Charlotte to wait too long, and I don't want to now do that same thing to the great folks in Boston and Baltimore. As far as Nashville, we are looking for a makeup date from the July rain-out and though this is not COVID-related, to make them wait makes me sad as well. So it is with a heavy heart that we announce the decision to cancel all five shows but with a hopeful heart, we will reschedule and start over when this wave seems to be behind us. I'm sincerely hoping we are back on tour before year's end."

Meanwhile, Korn has moved six dates to late September and early October and canceled shows in Darien, N.Y., and Syracuse, N.Y.

The band said in a joint statement, "We really appreciate your patience as we work out the next steps for our tour. On Saturday we received the unfortunate news that Jonathan tested positive for COVID, and needless to say, we had to postpone the show last-minute. As a result of his positive test, we also need to reschedule the next handful of shows. As always, our primary goal is to ensure the safety of everyone involved, so this is something that has to be done."
