New York's Governors Ball and Tennessee's Pilgrimage Music Festival are adopting the COVID policy Lollapalooza used: All attendees must provide either proof of vaccination or a recent negative test result.
Pilgramage says the test has to be within 48 hours of entry; Gov Ball gives attendees a 72-hour window for each of its three days.
The change arrives on the heels of the touring industry's sweeping changes as the Delta variant triggers a rise in cases. Both festivals updated their protocols just in time for unvaccinated ticketholders to be fully vaxxed by the time gates open on 9/24 at Citi Field and 9/25 in Franklin, Tenn.
Pilgrimage is headlined by the Dave Matthews Band, The Black Keys, Maren Morris and Cage The Elephant.
Governors Ball is sold out on 9/25, when A$AP Rocky headlines, but tickets are still available for 9/24 (Billie Eilish) and 9/26 (Post Malone). GB has also announced the lineup for its After Dark festival.
Safety is always our number one priority. As such, a full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to attend the festival. pic.twitter.com/QY0fFfRg7Z
