Snoop Dogg has recruited Kat MacLean-Daley as Death Row Records' first VP & head of publishing at the revitalized label. She'll report directly to the D-O-Double-G and be responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations in music, with her primary focus being on their newly established publishing business. She'll also be expanding Death Row's already existing catalog and roster, as well as building on the label's existing relationships with writers, producers and estates.
Snoop Dogg, who called Death Row home in the 1990s, acquired the label in 2022. Originally founded in 1992 by Suge Knight, Dick Griffey, Dr. Dre and The D.O.C. following Dre’s departure from N.W.A, Death Row launched the careers of artists such as Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, D.O.C., Nate Dogg, Warren G and Michel’le into another stratosphere. The label released several era-defining albums, including Dre’s The Chronic, Snoop’s Doggystyle and 2Pac's All Eyez on Me.
While Death Row has changed hands multiple times over the years, Snoop brought it full circle when he took the reins. One of his first orders of business was releasing The Chronic on DSPs. Odds are he also smoked some.
