Warner Chappell Music’s U.S. Latin division has inked an exclusive global admin publishing deal with Colombian DJ/producer Víctor Cárdenas.
The rising Latin producer is best known for co-producing Farruko’s 8x RIAA platinum-certified chart-topper “Pepas,” which has 325+ global streams and reached #1 in 20+ countries.
“It’s been incredible to see the explosive success that Víctor has had so early on in his career. He’s a trendsetter whose sound and style are infectious and have taken the world by storm. This is just the beginning and we’re excited to go on this journey with him,” said Lazaro Hernandez, VP, A&R, U.S. & Latin America, WCM.
“I am excited to have signed with Warner Chappell. I know we will accomplish great things and take electronic music to another level,” added Cárdenas.
Hailing from Tuluá, Colombia, Cárdenas teamed up with Dayvi and Kelly Ruíz in 2018 for “Baila Conmigo,” which was recorded by Jennifer López in 2019 and landed on multiple charts before peaking as her 18th #1 on the Dance Club Songs chart. A pioneer of modern Guaracha music, Cárdenas’ other notable credits include Lele Pons’ “Volar,” Farruko’s “El Incomprendido” and Maluma’s “Qué Chimba.”
The deal was closed by Pierre Hachar, Jr., Esq. and Cody Pellicer, Esq. of The Hachar Law Group, P.A.
