Primary Wave has inked R&B British singer/songwriter Mark Morrison.
As part of the multi-million-dollar deal, the pubco acquires a majority stake in the Award-winners music publishing catalog, including hits like “Crazy,” “Trippin’” and “Return of the Mack.”
Released 25 years ago this year, “Return of the Mack” was the debut single off Morrison’s album of the same name.
The chart-topper was certified platinum and has been sampled across a variety of tracks, including G-Eazy’s “Provide,” which also features Morrison along with Chris Brown. It also made Morrison the first Black male solo artist to reach #1 in the 90s.
Additionally, the deal includes name and likeness for Morrison and gives access to the pubco’s marketing and publishing infrastructure, which includes digital strategy, licensing, synch opportunities as well as film, TV and theatrical production.
