The NMPA has onboarded Marti Cuevas, President and Founder of Mayimba Music, to its Board of Directors. Specializing in Spanish language style since 1999, Mayimba offers music licensing and publishing admin services for third-party publishers and independent composers as well as full admin services for record labels.
“As someone with extensive experience in all aspects of the music industry—and as a musician herself—[Cuevas] will help guide us and offer invaluable first-hand insight into how we can help music creators,” shared NMPA President & CEO David Israelite.
Cuevas added, “I look forward to digging into the exciting issues currently on the NMPA palate, and to representing the interests of our culturally diverse community of Latin music composers and publishers.”
Multi-instrumentalist and composer Cuevas began her music business career at the N.Y. offices of William Krasilovsky before managing business affairs at J&N Records/J&N Publishing. She remains the administrator of the J&N Catalog via Mayimba Music.
Mayimba Music has won ASCAP’s Latin Indie-Publisher honors from 2013-2015 and was named Latin Indie Publisher of the Year in 2015 and 2016.
