The Songwriters of North America (SONA) has re-launched the SONA Foundation's Songwriter Fund grant program to assist songwriters and composers impacted by the wildfires ravaging the Greater Los Angeles Area.
“In response to the needs of our community, the SONA Foundation is providing direct grants to Songwriters and Composers impacted by these catastrophic disasters," SONA said in a statement. "Grants are available to those in need of assistance with medical care, loss of housing, replacement of equipment and other urgent needs.”
SONA distributed $400k in emergency grants during the COVID-19 pandemic and made the grant program a permanent part of The SONA Foundation. The fund will be a long-term effort, and anyone can make an immediate impact by donating here. As of Thursday (1/16), SONA is offering immediate $500 grants to affected songwriters and composers.
