XO/Republic’s The Weeknd headlined Spotify’s first Billions Club Live event, taking over Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar on 12/17 for an invitation-only performance in front of 2,000 of his most ardent fans.
The Weeknd bears the distinction of having more billion-streamers on Spotify than any other artist: 24. He duly performed a raft of them at the show, including “Blinding Lights,” “Starboy,” “Die for You,” “The Hills” and “Save Your Tears."
On 1/24 Abel will release Hurry Up Tomorrow, the final installment of a trilogy that has spanned 2020's After Hours and 2022's Dawn FM. He'll hit the Rose Bowl 1/25 for the aptly titled “One Night Only,” at which he'll debut material from Tomorrow. During the Billions Club show, he confirmed an upcoming tour and film.
Seen appearing gleeful for narrowly avoiding HITS staffers are (l-r) JJ Italiano, Lisa Ritchey, Joe Hadley, The Weeknd, Ashley Graver, Leila Kashfi, Jamie Roback and Monica Herrera Damashek.
