THE CHAINSMOKERS LIGHT UP THE METAVERSE

Disruptor/Columbia's The Chainsmokers have launched Festival Tycoon, an exclusive virtual concert experience on Roblox featuring a fully motion-captured performance, which kicks off on 9/9 at 4pm PT, with additional performances re-airing every hour on the hour throughout the weekend with the final show airing at 11pm PT on 9/11.

In Festival Tycoon, fans can learn the intricacies of music festival planning in an interactive and immersive environment as they unlock progression items such as stage design, lighting, lounges, pyrotechnics, merch booths and music to build their own stages, campsites, VIP areas, amusement park rides and helipads. Users can also perform on stage virtually alongside The Chainsmokers and other artists.

If you're truly into festival-planning, the realism of the process can be enhanced by having freaked-out staff members pinging your cell every eight seconds because the porta-potties fell over or the kombucha delivery got fucked up.

"The idea for Festival Tycoon has been years in the making based on our time on the road, playing over 200 shows and festivals a year," The Chainsmokers said in a statement. "We're so excited to finally bring this new, elevated fan experience to the metaverse on Roblox!"
