No other performance television show has compellingly united a host with its musical guests the way Daryl Hall’s Live From Daryl’s House has since its debut as an Internet series in 2007. The new season of the addictive series kicked off Thursday night on MTV Live with recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Cheap Trick.
As usual, Hall brings together a collection of veteran and new stars to his upstate New York house for some jams, good food and conversation. This year, Daryl and his killer band host Wyclef Jean (5/12), pals from his Philly days The O’Jays (5/26) and Kenny Loggins (6/23) to share vintage tracks; Elle King (5/19), Anderson East (6/2) and Grace (6/16) bring a spirited youthfulness to the house. Daughtry joins Daryl on 6/9.
MTV Live is MTV’s 24-hour channel dedicated to music.
Hall and his manager Jonathan Wolfson executive produce Live From Daryl’s House.
