WHAT IT IS: Kid Bloom, born Lennon Kloser, is making a singular brand of alternative pop with touchstones ranging from David Bowie to Steve Lacy, Tame Impala, The Weeknd and Hall & Oates. After working with the likes of Maroon 5, H.E.R. and The Neighbourhood’s Jesse Rutherford, the singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist dropped a series of independent releases—including his 2016 debut EP, A Different State of Mind—before making waves with his acclaimed 2020 EP, Blood Sugar, and 2022’s LP, Highway. Now, he’s gearing up for the release of his 2024 LP, Inner Light, with “Dead Butterflies”—due 11/16—serving as the project’s first single.
