Funzalo Records and Music has inked a worldwide deal with Toronto-based Daytripper/CCS Rights Management, who will now oversee day-to-day operations for the label and publishing company. Funzalo founder Mike Lembo will continue to work on sync licensing for film and TV, while Daytripper/CCS takes over catalog administration, creative services, marketing, sync licensing and more.

"We are pleased to bring the Funzalo catalogue to the CCS Rights family," said Daytripper/CCS CEO Jodie Ferneyhough. "Mike’s passion for his roster of writers and artists is undeniable and we look forward to working with him to find new uses for his songs."

For 50+ years, Lembo has worked at every level of the music business, with an eclectic client roster that includes Jules Shear, Cracker, NRBQ, The Church and North Mississippi Allstars, as well as Grammy-winning producers/engineers like Paul Q. Kolderie/Sean Slade, Stuart Sikes, Jim Dickinson, Nick Raskulinecz and Albhy Galutin.

In addition to his more limited role with Funzalo, Lembo will continue to run Mike’s Management and do artist-development consulting for labels, performers, managers, and songwriters. "Jodie has put together a great team and I’m thrilled to let go of the reins while I take in the view from my new Italian mountaintop town," he said. "Now get the hell out of my wine cellar."
