LUKOW UNVEILS THE ONE SIX
10/18/22

Music exec, songwriter and Dream Street producer Brian Lukow has unveiled The One Six, a newly formed musical ensemble whose mission is to "make strong and honest political statements against Donald Trump and the dangers he poses to America."

The idea was ignited after the January 6 insurrection at The Capitol in D.C. and subsequent committee formed to investigate the unprecedented attack. To introduce the group, Lukow has shared the first single and accompanying video, "Be Afraid," which he wrote shortly after watching the committee hearings.

"I was appalled by the insurrection, its enablers and the state of our country," Lukow said. "I was moved to write 'Be Afraid' to put the exposed corruption to words and music.

"While there have been many musical parodies pertaining to our current political state, this song is an anthem for accountability and change, and was inspired by Bob Dylan’s classic topical hit 'Hurricane.'"

Just 12 hours after it was uploaded to TikTok, the video-sharing giant removed it due to its alleged "violent extremism." As Lukow noted, with with the rise of violent threats, political backlash and violence from the MAGA faithful, his collaborators have chosen to remain anonymous.
