Hailing from South Africa, drummer Chris Bellew has steadily been honing his craft since the age of ten.

Having written and recorded drums for Riley Goldstein’s “Would You Think of Me” for the Chinese series Mysteries of Antiques—whose first episode aired with 11m+ viewers in China—he’s also collaborated with Meryl Rudy on “Howling” f/David Whimbish of The Collection and contributed to Jake Bennett’s “I Hope That Your Mum Hates Him.”

Most recently, Bellew lent a hand for Sophia Gripari’s “Hurt People” music video. He’s also worked with singer/songwriter Jillian Rossi, award-winning jazz pianist Paula Gallitano, The Collection—who were a 2019 Tiny Desk Pick band—and co-wrote/recorded drums for a jingle featured by Dotta Chrysler/Jeep.

Additionally, the versatile drummer has performed on stages like L.A.’s Mint, Breaking Sound LA and Whisky a Go Go, as well as to audiences at the Rotary Club Johannesburg and the World Health Organization. He’s also received airtime on stations like Nashville’s Radio SoBro, B-104, WFMZ, 99.9 The Hawk, P3 and more.

There’s more to come from this up-and-coming drummer. In the meantime, check out the official video for “Hurt People” below.
