Playlist, an online platform where artists, DJs and influencers can listen to music while chatting with fans, is generating buzz following the new WFH protocol. The company has built a social platform around music, enabling users to curate collaborative playlists, join large-scale group chats, enjoy virtual concerts and listen to new releases while being able to communicate with other fans.
Playlist is the first platform to create a sharing and influencer economy around music, generating ten times more engagement than the typical streaming app.
Founded by Karen Katz and Steve Petersen, the Stanford engineers built Playlist in an effort to make music social. With a licensed catalog of 47m songs and 4m artists with proprietary music metadata extensions, the company projects 20m users by 2022.
