WHAT IT IS: The first artist signed to the relaunched Sire Records in 2018 has since had quite a year. A genre-bending, East-meets-West sound prompted Entertainment Weekly to praise his “boundary-pushing aesthetic” and hail Vine as one of the “artists who will rule 2018.” His first single, “Drew Barrymore,” climbed the U.S. radio charts, reaching the Top 15 at both Rhythm and Top 40 radio and #46 on the Hot 100. The song—currently at 233m+ cumulative streams—went Top 10 at Shazam U.S. and was a BBC Radio 1 “Track of the Week” in the U.K. Vine, named YouTube’s “Artist on the Rise,” was featured as one of Billboard’s 2018 Chartbreakers and Pepsi’s SoundDrop Artists. “Drew Barrymore” was also featured in the most coveted playlists, including Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits and Apple Music’s A-List Pop. His upcoming single, “La La Land” featuring YG, is slated for release on 3/1.
