A SAD GIRL SHOW FOR SAD GIRL SLOAN
12/14/18

BY NICOLE GHAPGHARAN

L.A.’s intimate Moroccan Lounge welcomed Sasha Sloan for back-to-back sold-out shows on 12/4 and 12/5. Following the release of new EP Loser (11/29), the songstress clearly succeeded in closing out the year with gusto.

Sloan keeps it real, cutting through with incredible relatability. Between asking the crowd if they're “ready to be sad tonight” and hitting her Juul halfway through a song, it’s no wonder she’s solidified herself as an artist to watch. She's human, and you just want to hang out with her. And while she poured her emotions on the stage, the audience swayed and wiped their tears together, myself included.

For those unaware, the pop maverick’s first solo release “Ready Yet” did manage to propel her career. However, she's been an established writer for some time now, thanks to her work penning songs for the likes of Camila Cabello and Tinashe.

Opener Chloe Lilac, whose first-ever release, “Reckless,” broke the Top 5 on Spotify's U.S. Viral 50, delivered a dreamy set that included newest track “Stolen Liquor” and standout closer “Summer.”

You can catch the Hills Artist-repped Sloan on her first North American headline tour starting in March of next year, but in the meantime, check out Loser below.
