SMP has signed Theron Thomas to a global pub deal.
The pop/hip-hop songwriter is part of the writing/production duo R. City alongside his brother and is best known for his work with artists like Beyoncé’, Rihanna, Usher, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, Saweetie, Anitta, Ciara and more.
Some of his latest chart-toppers have included Chlöe’s “Have Mercy,” Lizzo & Cardi B’s gold-certified “Rumors” and Latto’s “Big Energy.”
Last year, he also contributed to Saweetie’s “Tap In” and “Best Friend” f/Doja Cat, as well as The Kid LAROI & Juice WRLD’s “Reminds Me of You.”
“Theron is one-of-one in talent, work ethic and spirit, inspiring every room he enters. It’s an honor to partner with Theron and Ray Daniels on this next chapter!” Said SMP SVP of Creative, Katie Welle.
“I’m looking forward to becoming the biggest songwriter in the world with the help of Ray, Katie, Big Jon and the entire Sony Music Publishing team,” added Thomas.
Originally hailing from St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Thomas first saw success when R. City achieved a breakthrough hit with Akon’s “The Rain,” featured on the multi-platinum album Konvicted in 2007. Throughout his career, he’s also helped “Locked Away” by R. City and Adam Levine, Becky G’s “Shower,” The Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up” and more.
