SMP Nashville has signed a global publishing deal with publishing and artist development company, Relative Music Group (RMG).
Founded in 2017 by father/son duo, Dennis and Jesse Matkosky, RMG gained prominence with its first signed act, country singer/songwriter Michael Hardy, who was also recently named a partner at the company.
ACM Male Artist of the Year nominee Hardy, stylized HARDY, is best known for penning hits like his #1 single, “One Beer” f/Lauren Alaina and Devin Dawson, as well as tracks like Blake Shelton’s “God’s Country,” Morgan Wallen's "Up Down" and Cole Swindell’s “Single Saturday Night,” which is currently Top 5 at Country radio.
“Relative Music Group has done an incredible job of championing songwriters with an independent spirit that embodies everything that makes Music Row special. We’re thrilled to partner with Dennis, Jesse and Michael as we work together to elevate their company and vision to new heights,” said SMP Nashville CEO, Rusty Gaston.
“We are so excited to be working with Rusty and the entire Sony Music Publishing family. It is clear they believe in our vision for the future of Relative Music Group and will be the perfect partners to help us get there,” added RMG Founders Dennis and Jesse Matkosky.
RMG is also home to up-and-coming artist Bailey Bryan, whose single “play w/ me” saw viral success on TikTok and accumulated 2m+ views. Her latest project, Fresh Start, dropped in May and has already amassed 11m+ streams RTD.
In addition to creative development, RMG specializes in a wide range of services for its songwriters, including synch. The company has secured over 350 placements throughout film and television, such as promotions for Apple, Coke, Game Of Thrones and more.
