Warner Chappell Music has inked a three-year global publishing agreement with Mexican music figure, Marco Antonio Solís.
Under the deal, Solís’ future works and a majority of his catalog are covered, including hits like “Si No Te Hubieras Ido,” “Más Que Tu Amigo,” “O Me Voy O Te Vas” and “A Donde Vamos a Parar.”
“As both a songwriter and recording artist, [Marco’s] made a massive impact, laying the foundation for many who have followed him in both the regional Mexican and Mexican pop space. It’s an honor to represent one of the most important and hugely influential Latin music catalogs of all time,” said Gustavo Menendez, President U.S. Latin & Latin America, WCM.
Throughout his 40+ year career, Solís has recorded over 300 songs and released more than 30 albums, contributing to his record-setting twelve #1s on the Top Latin Albums chart and the most #1s on the Hot Latin Tracks chart.
A Latin Grammy Hall of Fame inductee, Solís has also earned five Latin Grammys, 18 Lo Nuestro awards, a gold, platinum and two diamond-certified albums, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, among other accolades.
As a performer, Solís became the first Latin act to sell out both the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden. Aside from his solo work, Solís has produced for artists like Rocío Dúrcal, Olga Tañón, Beatriz Adriana and Jenny Rivera, among others, and has seen his songs covered by the likes of Enrique Iglesias, Lila Downs, Pablo Montero and more.
The deal was done in collaboration with Foundation Media Partner’s Paul Vasquez and Harvey Russell.
