AUDACY UPS MELISSA CHASE

Audacy has upped Melissa Chase to vp of programming for Audacy Houston. Overseeing programming efforts for 100.3 The Bull (KILT-FM), Mix 96.5 (KHMX-FM) and 95.7 The Spot (KKHH-FM), Chase will also lead strategy and promotions for the market’s full portfolio of stations. “[Melissa’s] ability to develop and execute a strategic plan, as well as her creativity, positivity and leadership make her the perfect person to lead our programming team moving forward,” said Audacy Houston SVP and Market Manager, Sarah Frazier. “Thank you so much to Jeff Sottolano and Dave Richards, who motivate us to grow radio as an experience of creativity, community and innovation. I am so grateful to expand this role under my market manager Sarah Frazier,” added Chase. Prior to joining Audacy in 2021 as brand manager for Mix 96.5 and 95.7 The Spot, Chase spent 12 years with SummitMedia/Cox Media Group and previously held roles across iHeartMedia and MTV Networks/Viacom, as well as doing voiceover acting.

Marella and his crew over at Capitol put 85 adds on Niall Horan's "Heaven" on their big impact week, while Warner's Chester and Dyer bring in 53 adds on Bebe Rexha's "Heart Wants What It Wants" and Epic’s Sackheim and bunch pick up 38 more adds on Zara Larsson's "Can't Tame Her" (SommerHouse). Columbia's Gray and staff stack another 23 adds on The Kid LAROI’s "Love Again" as Republic's Team Spangler puts 21 more on Morgan Wallen's "Last Night" (Big Loud/Mercury) and Capitol's scores a second entry this week with Sam Smith's "I'm Not Here to Make Friends" w/Jessie Reyez & Calvin Harris. Closing out the Top 10 is RCA with 19 adds on Miguel’s "Sure Thing" (By Storm).

Peter Gray and the Columbia bunch are celebrating the new #1 this weekend as Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" jumps up to the top spot. Republic's Spangler crew sees Metro Boomin’s "Creepin'" f/The Weeknd & 21 Savage (Boominati/Epic) climb up to #2. Other movers inside the Top 10 include RCA's Team Rothschild with SZA’s "Kill Bill" (TDE) and Columbia's Beyoncé with "Cuff It" (Parkwood). Joining the Top 10 this week will be Republic's Taylor Swift with "Lavender Haze” and The Orchard's Buch & Sarullo with RAYE’s "Escapism." f/070 Shake (Human Re Sources), while Columbia’s The Kid LAROI looks to enter the Top 20 with "Love Again." RCA's Miguel will debut on the chart this week prior to impact with "Sure Thing," as will Capitol's Team Marella with Niall Horan's “Heaven.”

So how was your Grammy week? Better yet, how was your Super Bowl weekend? Are you ready for spring? It seems like we just kicked of 2023 and yet here we are with not one, but two big weekends over. What’s next? Ok, now on to the business of the week … Columbia's Gray, Burruss, Bedard, Stevens & Brenner have the #1 Most Added track this week, putting 57 adds on The Kid LAROI’s "Love Again" upon its official impact date. They scored 34 early adds last week so they are off to the races and have already charted. Speaking of off and running, Miley Cyrus' "Flowers" is Top 5 after five consecutive weeks as the #1 Greatest Gainer. This one is moving fast It’s also holding on to the #1 spot at Spotify’s Top Songs Global and U.S. chart. After her record-breaking Grammy night, Beyoncé's "CUFF IT" (Parkwood)—which won Best R&B Song—is now Top 10 at Pop after reaching #1 at three formats. Over at Capitol, Marella, Nolletti, Acampora & Siciliano launched the new Sam Smith track, "I’m Not Here to Make Friends" w/Calvin Harris & Jessie Reyez. In just two weeks, they’ve amassed 89 early stations as the song moves Top 25 this week. Epic's Sackheim, Afloarei & Dimig have Meghan Trainor's "Made You Look" eyeing the top of the chart; it's set to join the Top 5. Meanwhile, Mimi Webb's "Red Flags" was Top 10 Most Added. It pulled in 14 new stations this week, including majors WBLI, WPOI, KENZ and KMXV, as it heads Top 30. Zara Larsson's "Can't Tame Her" scored nine early adds prior to impact this week, including HITS1, WBLI and KBFF. RCA's Rothschild, Maldonado, JR & Daddio continue to drive two singles from SZA up the chart. "Kill Bill" (TDE) is now Top 10 with a closed-out panel and "Nobody Get's Me" pulled in four close-out adds this week as it climbed into the Top 20. Chris Brown's "Under the Influence" (Chris Brown Ent.) is Top 15 and climbing with majors WWPW, KALV, WKQI and WXSS leading the way, while P!NK's "Never Gonna Not Dance Again" is now perched in the Top 20. Kane Brown & Katelyn Brown's "Thank God" (RCA Nashville) made its way back into Top 10 Most Added column this week and scored 20 new adds as it also looks headed Top 20. The Orchard's Buch & Sarullo continue to build a great story on RAYE’s "Escapism." f/070 Shake (Human Re Sources). Since its release, the track has been in the Most Added column and now has 160+ stations on board. It’s the fastest-moving indie track on the Pop chart, with a massive streaming story driving the climb. "Many songs today take far longer to fully develop and cut through the noise, but RAYE raised her hand with “Escapism.” right out of the gate with our audience," said Jeff McCartney, KZHT­-Salt Lake. In2une's Connone & Lucek moved JVKE's "golden hour" into the Top 10 at Pop this week and Top 15 at Hot AC with 294m+ U.S. streams behind it. At Interscope, Romano & Lopes have pulled in 40 early adds on Reneé Rapp's "Too Well" and charted before impact; early believers on this include WXKS, KMVQ, WNKS and KUDD. Rema & Selena Gomez's "Calm Down" is set to join the Top 10 and is already Top 10 in audience share; it’s been Top 10 for the last five months at Spotify. Lady Gaga’s "Bloody Mary" is now Top 15; new adds include KZHT, WXSS, WTDY and WKSE. Republic's Spangler & Romeo put another 17 adds on Coi Leray's "Players" this week, placing it in the Top 10 Most Added column. The track is already moving toward the Top 20 and shows no signs of slowing down. Taylor Swift's "Lavender Haze" continues to increase streams and sales, and the consumption rank jumped from 45-25 this week; it’s Top 10 bound on the Pop chart.
