Cumulus Media has tapped Jimmy Steele as PD, WZPL Indianapolis, effective 4/18.

He joins WZPL from Cumulus Mobile, AL, where he was the Operations Manager and PD of WABD and News-Talk WXQW-AM since 2017.

He previously served as SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Salisbury-Ocean City, MD and Director of Operations/Brand Manager for Saga Communications in Columbus, OH.

"There was huge interest in this position, and I spoke with a number of qualified programmers, but Jimmy stood out from the start," said Cumulus Indianapolis Operations Manager, Christopher "Boomer" Layfield.

Earlier in his career, Steele worked as Operations Manager for Clear Channel/iHeartMedia's San Diego group, as well as RVPP for the company's Columbus, OH and Central Ohio regional markets and PD of WNCI. He also previously programmed WRVW (107.5 The River)/Nashville.
