POP MART

What a GREAT mid-year break that was! The American women won the World Cup, there was lots of beach time, a ton of fireworks and so much grilling going on. I’m still dreaming of red velvet cake, peach cobbler, cinnamon ice cream and chess pie; yep, you missed all that if you weren’t on the Red Neck Riviera… There’s still some leftovers if you hurry. And now, back to work!

Things over at Def Jam are about to get explosive for Sackheim, Rothschild and Farag. They’ve got two new tracks impacting next week that already have a nice buzz going, and a lot of majors are spinning early. Alessia Cara‘s “Here” is already on WIOQ, WBLI, WDZH and WKGS, and Afrojack’s “Summer Thing” has pulled in Y100, KMVQ, KYLD, WZMP and KEGY. The latter saw an immediate Shazam reaction in San Francisco (#6) and Miami (#20) thanks to the early airplay. Axwell ^ Ingrosso’s “Sun Is Shining” is off and running, pulling in Y100, KYLD and KDND this week. Rihanna’s “BBHMM” (Roc Nation), currently Top 10 on the iTunes Top Pop Chart, is looking to chart.

Kaya Stewart & CBS' Michael Martin

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich and Shih launched Jason Derulo’s “Cheyenne” (Beluga Heights) last week and the track is already chartbound; there are tons of early majors on this one. Adam Lambert’s “Ghost” is heading Top 25 and has some strong early callout coming in. Kaya Stewart’s “In Love With a Boy” is headed Top 30 and pulls in Q100, KPTT, KLUC and WHBQ this week.

RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio, Cooper and Strazza have Sia’s “Elastic Heart” (Monkey Puzzle) in the Top 15. With the impressive callout and sales numbers, this one should be Top 10 bound. Pitbull f/Chris Brown’s “Fun” (Mr.305/Polo Grounds) picked up 24 new adds last week, including WWWQ, KRBE and KCHZ. Prince Royce f/Pitbull & Jennifer Lopez’s “Back It Up,” on over 55 stations, is chartbound; the video is at 35m views. Nice start!

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris and Vaughan are set to move OMI’s “Cheerleader” Top 5 this week, after just eight short weeks on the chart. Rachel Platten’s anthemic “Fight Song” pulls in another major sync with Ford’s “Unstoppable” campaign, which began airing on 7/1 and should keep the sales and the callout story moving as the song continues to grow inside the Top 20. MKTO’s “Bad Girls” is chartbound; it pulled in seven new adds last week, including WWPW, WZFT and WRVQ. With early airplay on the board from B96, WDZH and KMVQ, Little Mix’s “Black Magic” (SYCO) is set to launch next week.

Team Palmese continues its streak in the Most Added column with Nathan Sykes’ “Kiss Me Quick” (Global Entertainment). This week should mark three weeks in a row with 10+ on the board including WFLC, WZPL and KDND.

Epic’s Team Glassman has done a terrific job with Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” (SYCO). The track shows no signs of slowing down as it jumps into the Top 5 this week, while just moving into power at a ton of stations. Jidenna’s “Classic Man” (Wondaland) adds Y100, WRNW, WEZB and KZON on the pop side and is looking to chart, as it goes #1 at Rhythm. Meghan Trainor & John Legend’s “Like I’m Gonna Lose You” jumped another nine spots on the chart, is bubbling just under and looking to chart.

Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis continue to grow Andy Grammer’s

KIIS' Beata, Demi Lovato & Ennis

“Honey, I’m Good” inside the Top 10 with WXSS, KUDD and KBKS all moving to Power rotation. Bea Miller’s “Fire N Gold” is off to a great start and pulled in new airplay from KRUF and WFBC this week. Seen right is Ennis proving he’s willing to “jump in the pool,” if needed, to get airplay!

Hollywood and Republic’s CW, Spangler and Russell joined forces this holiday weekend to launch Demi Lovato’s new single, “Cool for the Summer,” with pool parties in Atlanta, Chicago and LA. They were jet-setting around the country and, since the track is now Top 25, I would say all the hard work paid off. Taylor Swift f/Kendrick Lamar’s “Bad Blood” (Big Machine) continues to be #1, but The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” is on the fast track to be next up, as it moves Top 10 this week and is the #1 Greatest Gainer. Fall Out Boy’s “Uma Thurman” (DCD2/Island) is set to move Top 20 this week, while Shawn Mendes’ “Stitches” (Island) looks to move Top 30. By the way, Sage The Gemini f/Nick Jonas’ “Good Thing” impacted and charted in the same week.

Capitol’s Reese, Rainey, Youngblood and Siciliano have Tori Kelly’s “Should’ve Been Us” set to move Top 25. Sam Hunt’s “Take Your Time” (MCA Nashville) just moved up inside the Top 30. Sam Smith’s “Like I Can” pulled in new airplay from WXLK, KNOU and WKCI while moving up inside the Top 40. Silento’s “Watch Me”—the track with all my favorite memes—jumped on the chart at #36.

MUSIC WE LOVE: Leon Bridges’ “Coming Home” (Columbia), R City f/Adam Levine’s “Locked Away” (222/Interscope)
