Legendary OC ska-pop band No Doubt is the latest act to be added to the superstar-packed FireAid fundraising concert, to take place at both the Intuit Dome and The Forum on 1/30.
After a nine-year absence from the stage, No Doubt reunited at the 2024 Coachella festival.
No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani was already scheduled to appear at the benefit, alongside Billie Eilish and Finneas, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Gracie Abrams, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joni Mitchell, Dave Matthews and John Mayer, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, P!nk, Katy Perry, Lil Baby, Sting, Stephen Stills, Earth, Wind & Fire and Tate McRae.
More acts are expected to be announced imminently, as organizers are working furiously to finalize a lineup and running order. Could booking conflicts arise between FireAid and the 2/2 Grammy Awards? Let’s hope that the greater good outweighs any squabbles over exclusivity.
FireAid is being produced by the Azoff family in conjunction with Live Nation and AEG Presents. Tickets go on sale 1/22 at noon PT, and more acts will be announced.
Proceeds from FireAid will go to a newly created 501(c)(3) dedicated to “rebuilding infrastructure, supporting displaced families and advancing fire-prevention technologies and strategies to ensure L.A. is better prepared for fire emergencies.” They will be distributed under the advisement of the Annenberg Foundation.
The event will broadcast at select AMC theatres, and on Apple Music and the Apple TV app, Max, iHeartRadio, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudom, Paramount+, Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, SiriusXM, Spotify, SoundCloud, Veeps and YouTube.
Intuit Dome and Forum owner Steve Ballmer is a driving force behind the event. It could raise in the neighborhood of $50m, a goal that insiders believe is highly achievable. Super-producer Joel Gallen, who produced and directed the 9/11 special America: A Tribute to Heroes, is rumored to be attached as well.
