Live Nation and its Crew Nation Global Relief Fund have pledged $1m to assist members of the music community impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires.
Crew Nation, which was created when live shows were paused during the pandemic, has opened applications for grants up to $5,000 for individuals currently employed within the industry who are facing displacement expenses due to mandatory evacuation orders, damage, or loss.
Live Nation has already stepped up on its own, supporting impacted employees from its Los Angeles headquarters with direct relief through its Taking Care of Our Own program. The booking giant is also joining the Azoff family and AEG Presents in staging the massive FireAid benefit, which takes both the Intuit Dome and The Forum on 1/30.
Those shows will feature Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Gracie Abrams, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Joni Mitchell, Dave Matthews & John Mayer, Gwen Stefani, Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, P!nk, Katy Perry, Lil Baby, Sting, Stephen Stills, FINNEAS, Earth, Wind & Fire and Tate McRae
"L.A. is home to so many who help make live music possible," Live Nation Entertainment President/CEO Michael Rapino said. “Crew Nation is continuing its core mission of helping this hardworking community through unforeseen hardship."
Additionally, The Weeknd has committed another $1m to the LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund and the LA Regional Food Bank. The move follows the cancelation of his Rose Bowl performance originally scheduled for 1/25. The Republic/XO artist also pushed back the release of his next album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, to 1/31.
