PRIMARY WAVE AXES ANNUAL GRAMMY EVENT

Primary Wave has joined the growing list of companies canceling its annual Grammy week events.

“Primary Wave has made the decision to cancel our annual pre-Grammy celebration on February 1,” a statement read. “Our hearts and love go out to our friends and family and all who have been affected by the devastating wildfires.”

Spotify, Warner, UMG, Sony and BMG have also axed their Grammy-related events, opting instead to donate funds to fire relief aid. The Grammys, however, will go on as planned 2/2 at the Crypto.Com Arena.

On Wednesday (1/15), Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. announced its Grammy Week would be condensed to three days and will include MusiCares' Person of the Year event and Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gathering that will double as a fundraiser. Mason noted the Academy is closely monitoring the ongoing wild fires and will pivot accordingly.
