U.K. MIDWEEKS: SABRINA, WHAM! SOUND SWEET

Sabrina Carpenter leads the Official U.K. Albums midweek race with Short n’ Sweet (Island). On the singles tally, WHAM! is the front-runner for the Christmas #1.

Short n’ Sweet could claim a second nonconsecutive week at #1 on the album chart, but Michael Bublé’s Christmas (Reprise) is just 150 units behind, at #2.

British rock band The Reytons could have a third U.K. Top 10 album with their self-released third set, Clifton Park, starting at #6. Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre’s long-awaited reunion album, Missionary (Death Row/Aftermath/Interscope), is moving towards a #7 debut. The Cure’s former #1, Songs of a Lost World (Polydor), could bounce back into the Top 10, at #8. Teddy Swims’ I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy: Part 1 (Warner Records) is expected to jump 22 places to #10.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles chart, WHAM!'s “Last Christmas” (Epic) could become the Christmas #1 single for a second year in a row. The track is leading the race by less than 3k in sales. Celebrating its 40th year, the evergreen is offered in three limited-edition anniversary vinyl singles, including a collectible zoetrope.

Close behind, at #2, is Tom Grennan’s Amazon Original “It Can’t Be Christmas” (Insanity), followed by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (Columbia) at #3. Gracie Abrams is at #4 with “That’s So True” (Interscope). “APT.” (Atlantic) by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars is #5.

Laufey’s first Top 20 hit, the Amazon Original “Christmas Magic” (Vingolf), is up 13 places to #7.

The rest of the Top 10 is made up of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” (MCA) by Brenda Lee at #6, Bobby Helms’ “Jingle Bell Rock” (Geffen) at #8, “Fairytale of New York” (Rhino) by The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl at #9 and Lola Young’s “Messy” (Island) at #10.
