DYLAN CENTER CELEBRATES BLOOD ON THE TRACKS' 50th

The Bob Dylan Center will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its namesake’s landmark Blood on the Tracks album with "Shelter From the Storm," an all-star concert scheduled for 1/24 at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the home of the museum.

The Luke Wilson-hosted program, which will cover all of the classic 1975 album’s songs, promises performances by such artists as Elvis Costello, Lucinda Williams, Robyn Hitchcock, Diana Krall and Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls. They’ll be backed by a band of musicians who performed on Blood on the Tracks, including keyboardist Greg Inhofer, guitarist Kevin Odegard and bassist Billy Peterson.

"I'm deeply humbled to perform with such an influential group of artists honoring one of the greatest songwriters of all time,” said Sharon Van Etten. “Dylan’s work still reveals itself to me in ways that continue to grow and inspire."

Music director Doug Keith added, “It’s been a dream come true to co-curate this celebration of Blood on the Tracks with the amazing team at the Bob Dylan Center. I’m so excited to be part of bringing some of my favorite artists to Tulsa to bring this classic album to life. It’s going to be an unbelievable show!"

In 2003 Blood on the Tracks was ranked #9 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. As far as we know, HITS hasn't cracked the top 500 on any list.
