Courteneers (pictured) are heading for their second U.K. Official Albums #1 with Pink Cactus Café (Ignition), while on the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Lady Gaga is leading the charge with “Disease” (Interscope).
Pink Cactus Café is the seventh LP from the Manchester band and their first release of new material in four years. Tears for Fears look set to score a seventh U.K. Top 10 album, with Songs for a Nervous Planet (Concord) on course to land at #2.
Queen’s first studio album, Queen I (Virgin), could enter the Top 10 for the first time at #3 thanks to a huge boxed set released for its 50th anniversary. Bastille frontman Dan Smith’s new album, “&” (Ampersand) (EMI), recorded with family and friends on a break from touring with the rest of the band, is at #4 midweek.
Eminem’s former #1, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) (Interscope), could return to the Top 10 at #5 following the physical release of its Expanded Mourner’s Edition.
Further new entries in today’s Top 10 include Cartoon Darkness (Rough Trade) by Amyl & the Sniffers, The Night The Zombies Came (BMG) by Pixies at #8, Andrea Bocelli’s Duets (Decca) at #9 and Patterns in Repeat (Chrysalis) by Laura Marling at #10.
Should “Disease” hold onto its place on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart by Friday, it will be Gaga’s seventh chart-topper in the U.K. However, with “Sailor Song” (Island) by Gigi Perez less than 500 sales behind at #2, the top spot is still up for grabs.
“Thick of It” (Atlantic) by KSI and Trippie Redd is up four to #6 midweek, while “That’s So True” (Interscope) by Gracie Abrams climbs 11 to #8.
“The Door” (Warner Records) by Teddy Swims rises three to #10, while his “Bad Dreams” is set to break into the Top 20 at #17.
Addison Rae has two tracks in today’s Top 40: “Diet Pepsi” (Columbia) is up one to #11, while “Aquamarine” is a new entry at #33. BTS star JIN is set to debut at #14 with “I’ll Be There” (BIGHIT).
