Sony Music Latin has signed singer-songwriter Oscar Ortiz, who, at 22, has already earned a stellar reputation among his peers in the regional Mexican music community.
Ortiz had success right out of the box with his debut single, “First Love,” which dropped last December. A collaboration with Edgardo Nuñez released on Ortiz's own BadSin label, the track earned him his first two platinum certs and his first gold record in Mexico.
"Reaching this point in my career was a long journey, but one that was totally worth it," said Ortiz, the youngest member of a musical family that has produced Gerardo and Kevin Ortíz. "Being part of the Sony Music Latin family is a dream that begins today, with music at the heart of everything.”
“At 22, Oscar has repeatedly shown his extraordinary talent as a performer and songwriter, positioning him as one of the most promising voices in contemporary música Mexicana," added President of Sony Music U.S. Latin Alex Gallardo, pictured left of Ortiz.
