A FUTURE-FORWARD TOP 50

Future’s MIXTAPE PLUTO (Freebandz/Epic) bows at #1 on this week’s HITS Top 50 chart with 129k+, reaffirming the artist’s preeminent place in the hip-hop firmament. Island’s Chappell Roan continues her extraordinary chart streak at #2 with 118k—bolstered by big sales of her anniversary vinyl edition—while labelmate Sabrina Carpenter takes the #3 spot with 97k+. REPUBLIC CORPS, incidentally, owns 70% of the Top 10, once you add in Post Malone, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, debuting Lil Tecca and Noah Kahan. Monte would like to know why it isn’t 80%.

Capitol’s Katy Perry scores a Top 10 bow with 44k+, good for #8. The aforementioned Tecca (Galactic/Republic) lands at #9 with 42k+. The Top 20’s other debut comes from Kakao/hello82-distribbed FNC Entertainment act P1Harmony, which garners 24k+ for Sad Song.

Streeting at press time are new sets by Interscope’s Lady Gaga, ISO Supremacy/PULSE’s Tommy Richman, Luke Bryan, Mickey Guyton (the latter two on Capitol Nashville), Moneybagg Yo deluxe, (CMG/Interscope), DaBaby (South Coast/Interscope), Ed Sheeran’s +-=÷× TOUR COLLECTION (Atlantic), Dylan Schneider (Broken Bow) and Reprise’s Billy Strings.

In political news, we note that Project 2025 includes plans to abolish both the NOAA and the National Weather Service. We don’t have a joke to add here, but we send love to everyone in the path of Hurricane Helene.
