More than 30 artists have signed on to perform during Musicians for Kamala, a free, livestreamed fundraiser on behalf of the Democratic presidential nominee set for 9/17.
Hosted by longtime KCRW personality Nic Harcourt, the event will feature Jack Johnson, Mickey Guyton, Devo, Sheila E, Moby, Rosanne Cash, The Doors' John Densmore, Bootsy Collins, Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips and the intriguing pairing of Elvin Bishop and Los Lobos.
"Whether you’re an artist, an industry professional or a music lover, now is the time to come together, amplify voter registration, rally support and drive donations for the Harris-Walz campaign," organizers said.
Visit the event's website for further details. Despite HITS' influential back catalog of bluegrass-infused speed metal, we were sadly not invited to participate.
The announcement follows Taylor Swift's high-profile endorsement of Harris and Walz earlier this week, as well as a lawsuit filed by Jack White against the Donald Trump campaign for using his song "Seven Nation Army" without permission at campaign events.
