JASON JAESANG LEE NAMED CEO OF HYBE

Park Ji-won has resigned as CEO of South Korean entertainment conglomerate HYBE, best known for bringing BTS to the wider world. He will be replaced by Chief Strategy Officer Jason Jaesang Lee (pictured).

Park had been with the company since 2020, when it was still Big Hit Entertainment. He rose to CEO in 2021, replacing Bang Si-hyuk.

Lee came to HYBE in 2018 after roles with Google and Hyundai, and has previously served as COO and President of HYBE America. His appointment will be subject to an upcoming shareholders meeting.

"Jason Jaesang Lee is an expert in the entertainment industry with extensive experience in both domestic and international business strategy and operations," HYBE said in a statement. "He will help HYBE grow into a sophisticated entertainment lifestyle platform company based on music and technology."

BTS remains one of the globe's top acts, even while on hiatus due to its members' mandatory military service. Member Jimin's new solo album, Muse, is poised for a Top 5 debut this week.
