ON THE GRID: NTERTAIN TO SHOWCASE F1 LEGEND MONTOYA

As part of NEON16's Big Race Week, Lex Borrero (pictured at left) and Tommy Mottola's NTERTAIN Studios have announced the production of a new documentary series on Colombian F1 legend Juan Pablo Montoya (center; as if you didn't know, that's Mottola on the right).

The series was announced at Soho Beach House in Miami on 5/1 to coincide with the 2024 Miami Grand Prix.

"As we expand our catalog into sports, NTERTAIN Studios continues to spotlight the dynamic stories of Latino talent that resonate globally,” said Borrero, CEO of NTERTAIN Studios and an executive producer of the doc. “Juan Pablo Montoya's journey is not just about racing; it's a powerful narrative of dedication and legacy.”

The project will dive deep into Montoya's record-breaking achievements in several top-tier racing divisions—including not only F1 but CART, IndyCar, F3000 and NASCAR. Beyond his storied racing career, the documentary will shed light on his life after retirement and his mentorship of his son's racing career.

This series will be directed by Fernando Villena (The Golden Boy, The Alpinist) and produced by Borrero and Santiago Zapata (MONOS, Los Montaner) and co-produced by Summa Sports & Entertainment's Mariano Zabaleta, Rockanfella's Dubraska Arias, Jonathan Wul and Scarpetta Media's Hernan Salama.

While Mottola doesn't have much F1 experience, he has logged about 10,000 hours in top-of-the-line Mercedes.
