U.K. CHARTS: JAMES LANDS FIRST STUDIO #1

James has its first U.K. Official #1 studio album with Yummy (Nothing But Love Music). Over on singles, Hozier spends a second week at the top.

Yummy, the Manchester band’s 18th studio LP, is their second overall chart-topper, following the 1998 hits compilation The Best Of.

Dire Straits leader Mark Knopfler has the second-highest new-albums entry today, with One Deep River (EMI) landing at #3.

Linkin Park’s Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023) (Warner Records) is the band’s first Top 5 album in seven years and first since the death of frontman Chester Bennington, bowing at #4 today.

British rock act the Kris Barras Band has its first Top 5 with Halo Effect (Earache), a new entry at #5.

English Teacher’s debut, This Could Be Texas (Island), bows at #8, and Scottish band Gun is #10 with Hombres (Cooking Vinyl).

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, Hozier’s “Too Sweet” (Island) claims a second week at #1. The track had a 17% week-over-week sales increase, tallying 72k chart units and 7.9m streams over the last seven days.

“i like the way you kiss me” (Parlophone), from Artemas, rises two slots to #3, while “Espresso” (Island), by Sabrina Carpenter, debuts at #6 to give the artist her first career Top 10 hit in the territory.

Dasha’s breakout hit, “Austin” (Warner), hits a new peak of #7, and labelmate Dua Lipa’s “Illusion” enters at #9.

Little Mix member Perrie lands at #10 with her debut solo release, “Forget About Us” (Columbia), co-written by Ed Sheeran.
