A GRAMMY RATINGS BONANZA

CBS' broadcast of the Grammy Awards was a huge ratings winner, rising 34% over last year with 16.9m viewers.

It was the show's biggest audience since 2020, no doubt fueled by Taylor Swift's recent omnipresence at NFL games. The star used the Grammy platform to announce her new album, The Tortured Poets Department, which will arrive 4/19 on Republic.

Viewership peaked in the 9:45pm ET hour, with 18.25m tuning in during the (endless) "In Memoriam" segment. The success extended to the ceremony's Paramount+ broadcast, which was up 173% from last year.

Music's Biggest Night also dominated social media, with 63b potential impressions, to become the #1 social-media event of 2024 thus far. As of Monday morning (2/5), the Grammys had generated 56.4b social video clips.

Beyond Taylor, we're positive Jack, Ben, Jesse, Harvey and team would like to thank Tracy Chapman, Miley Cyrus, Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell and Billie Eilish, whose songs are dominating DSP charts worldwide after their Grammy performances.

What's more, with The Tortured Poets Department likely to be nominated for numerous awards next year, CBS can likely count on another Taylor-driven ratings boost in 2025.
