COACHELLA BETS ON PESO PLUMA, CARIN LEÓN AND OTHER LATIN BREAKOUTS

Peso Pluma and Carin León have landed milestone billing on the Coachella lineup. The former earned the highest position ever for a Latin artist's debut in Indio, while the latter becomes the first Spanish-language act booked at both Stagecoach and Coachella.

One could make the case that Peso Pluma, repped by George Prajin, scored the highest billing ever for a new act with his #2 position on the two-weekend festival's Fridays. The Mexican phenom was virtually unknown before 2023.

León, repped by manager Jorge Juarez, will be spending the entire month of April in the desert (surely a mixed blessing weatherwise), with an impressive dual booking at AEG's Empire Polo Club outings.

Also nabbing a runner-up headlining slot is reggaeton vet J Balvin, who's gearing up for a major return in 2024. Just a few years ago the UMLE hitmaker was Latin music's most-streamed artist.

Argentine DJ-producer Bizarrap is also making a splash with his first major U.S. festival date. He appears on Friday's second line, as does his most recent collaborator, Young Miko (Capitol/The Wave Music Group). The strong placements further confirm the burgeoning status of these buzzworthy global artists.

Santa Fe Klan, booked by 33 & West's J.J. Cassiere and now repped by Prajin, has been tapped for a mid-tier slot on Saturday. The Mexican rapper just completed a U.S. tour, filling theaters and even arenas in some markets.
