With "Stick Season," Noah Kahan is enjoying his first U.K. Official Singles #1. Over on albums, a surprise release returns Lewis Capaldi to the top.
“Stick Season,” the first #1 single of 2024, topped the chart with 6.5m streams in its 14th week.
Thanks to the inclusion of “Murder on the Dancefloor” (Polydor), by Sophie Ellis Bextor, on the soundtrack to Saltburn, it re-enters the Top 10 today for the first time in 22 years, at #8.
A few more tracks benefit from Christmas hits' falling off the chart: “DNA (Loving You)” (Atlantic) by Billy Gillies f/Hannah Boleyn is up to #9 from #55 and “Rich Baby Daddy” (OVO/Republic), by Drake, Sexyy Red and SZA, rises to #10 from #65.
On the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart, Capaldi’s Broken by Desire To Be Heavenly Sent (EMI) has rocketed back to #1 thanks to a surprise Extended Edition; the set features five previously unreleased tracks.
Taylor Swift holds steady at #2 with 1989 (Taylor’s Version) (EMI). The Weeknd’s The Highlights (Republic) is at #3, while ABBA’s Gold: Greatest Hits (Polydor) climbs to its highest position since 2008, #4.
Kahan’s Stick Season earns a new peak, rising three to #5. Olivia Rodrigo’s GUTS (Geffen) is up one to #6.
