Take That has claimed the biggest first-week sales for a British act in 2023 with This Life (EMI). Over on singles, Jack Harlow is favored for a third week at #1.
This Life has shifted 103k in chart sales to top the U.K.’s Official Albums midweek chart; Take That's ninth studio set is expected to be their ninth U.K. #1 on Friday.
A 35th anniversary edition of Kylie Minogue’s debut, Kylie (BMG), is new at #3. Michael Bublé’s festive staple, Christmas (Reprise), is expected to make a re-entry into the Top 10 at #4. The 1975 nabs the third-highest new entry today with At Their Very Best: Live From Madison Square Garden (Dirty Hit), at #5.
A posthumous greatest-hits collection from Tina Turner, Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll (Parlophone), is #6. Scottish indie band Trashcan Sinatras are expected to seize their first Top 40 entry with a reissue of their 1990 debut, Cake (Go! Discs), at #10.
On the U.K.’s Official Singles midweeks, Harlow’s “Lovin on Me” (Atlantic) is still #1. Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season” (Republic) is up one to #3.
Elsewhere, a number of Christmas songs have entered the Top 10: “Last Christmas” (Epic) by Wham! is #6; “All I Want for Christmas Is You” (Columbia) by Mariah Carey is #7; and Sam Ryder’s Amazon Music original, “You’re Christmas to Me” (East West/Rhino), starts at #10.
