Ruben Abraham and Delia Orjuela have been named co-heads of Warner Music's Música Mexicana division. Both execs will be based in L.A. and report to WM Mexico & Central America President Tomas Rodriguez, with additional oversight by WM Latin America President Alejandro Duque.
Abraham will concentrate on operations, growth and deal-making; Orjuela will focus on artist relations and creative projects. They will jointly lead the division’s overall strategy in the U.S. and Mexico.
Since joining Warner Music in 2021, Duque has prioritized the label's commitment to amplifying Mexican talent on the global stage. The Música Mexicana division has seen success with the rise of global acts like Los Aptos, Tomas Ballardo and DannyLux, who performed at Coachella this year, opened for Coldplay in Mexico and released his widely acclaimed album DLUX on 8/18.
"Música Mexicana is a diverse body of music with a long, rich and beautiful history," said Duque. "Ruben and Delia's deep experience, relationships and passion for Mexican music make them the ideal leaders as we strengthen our commitment to taking música Mexicana into a new era of global growth and influence."
Abraham has been with WMG for 18+ years, most recently serving as SVP of Marketing and Artist Strategy for WML; Orjuela joined Warner Music Latina as GM of Mexican Music in 2021.
Unfortunately for them, they have now entered HITS' orbit.
