BILLION-ERA STATUS

Taylor Swift has joined an exclusive club. Per Bloomberg, the Republic juggernaut is now worth more than $1b thanks to the enormous success of The Eras Tour, making her one of a handful of artists to "reach that status based on music and performing alone.”

Swift's concert tour kicked off in March and since then has “added $4.3 billion to the country’s gross domestic product.” The report considered the estimated values of Swift’s music catalog, her five homes and earnings from streaming, music sales, concert tickets and merchandise. The analysis also estimated the tour sold more than $700m in ticket sales to date.

Swift, who's preparing to resume the Eras trek in November, released 1989 (Taylor's Version) on Friday (10/27), a rerecording of her Grammy-winning 1989 album.

“A part of me was reclaimed in 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so dearly,” Swift wrote in an Instagram post shared Thursday (10/26). “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle on my life for so long.”

Adding to Swift's financial boom is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour film, which has reeled in more than $100m at the domestic box office since its 10/13 release. Taylor for president?
