Sure, streaming today's hits (or your own painstakingly curated playlists of hipster obscurities) is fun. But how much more enjoyable would it be to share the experience with your squad?
Spotify has the solution: a personalized, real-time listening session called Jam, which is now available for users of the DSP's premium and ad-supported tiers worldwide. The streaming giant’s latest initiative builds on some of the company’s social features, including Blend and Collaborative Playlists, and combines them with personalization technology to make listening to music with friends that much easier.
With Jam, anyone in the group can tap into its shared queue control, tailored recommendations and the ability to see who’s added which track from their individual devices. The host also has the ability to determine who’s in the Jam, change the order of the tracks, remove a song that doesn’t fit the playlist or enable “guest controls.” Take a peek at the interface below.
Rumor has it the company is looking into setting up a Jam helpline for people aged 40+.
