Gabrielle Peluso has joined Hitmaker Distro/Hitmaker Music Group as GM. She'll be based in NYC and will report to Hitmaker Distro/Hitmaker Music Group founder-CEO Tony Bucher.
“We are super-excited to have Gabby overseeing the day-to-day operations at Hitmaker Distro/Hitmaker Music Group," reads Bucher's quote. "Her years of experience inside the major-label system and her most recent years navigating the indie space have made her a perfect fit for this role. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join our team.”
Peluso has spent the majority of her more than two decades in the biz at Def Jam, where she guided campaigns for Rihanna, Kanye West, Mariah Carey, JAY-Z, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez and Frank Ocean, among others. She has also served as a senior partner at KWL Enterprises, whose roster included Trey Songz, Big Sean and Ty Dolla $ign. As VP of urban music at eOne (now MNRK Music Group), Peluso worked on album rollouts for The Game, Tamar Braxton and Lil’ Kim et al. And if that weren't enough, she collaborated with Wiz Khalifa, Sada Baby, Girl Talk and KenTheMan while co-president of Asylum Records.
With this much industry experience, Peluso is likely familiar with our terrible puns and other disreputable behavior. Even so, we'd like to correct one thing for the record: Those are not prank phone calls—we are genuinely concerned about whether or not your refrigerator is running.
