PRINCE'S ESTATE REOPENS THE VAULT

Paisley Park Enterprises, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Records have partnered on a reissue of Prince's 1991 album, Diamonds and Pearls. The ambitious set, scheduled for a 10/27 release, features a whopping 47 previously unreleased tracks and two hours of rare concert performances.

Diamonds and Pearls Super Deluxe Edition represents the third deep dive into Prince’s vault. It includes a total of 75 audio tracks on seven CDs and a dozen 180g vinyl records. It also boasts a newly remastered version of the original album, plus 15 remixes and B-sides from the era, including the never commercially released “Gett Off (Damn Near 10 Min.)” mix. Alternate versions of album tracks, songs Prince gave to other artists and material he recorded while on the road in 1990 round out the collection.

Diamonds and Pearls was Prince's first album with The New Power Generation. It was certified double platinum three months after its release thanks in part to the hit singles "Gett Off," "Cream" and the title track.

The music is accompanied by a 120-page hard-cover book with previously unseen photos by Randee St. Nicholas and an introduction by Public Enemy co-founder Chuck D.
